Timothy came to SDR through no fault of his own. Unfortunately, his previous owner became too ill to look after him. Despite Timothy being in a home for the past eleven years he has settled in remarkably well to his new routine here at SDR.

He is a delightful little chap, and even in such a short space of time being here he has become one of the favourites with the dog carers. Timothy is always happy to see the carers as he loves the company of people.

Timothy enjoys the company of people and is an incredibly social little chap. He loves meeting new people and is well mannered when doing so. The more friends Timothy has the more he gets told how handsome he truly is.

When it comes to exercise, Timothy enjoys his time off lead.  He will explore somewhere new with confidence. Whilst being here at SDR we have found Timothy is well mannered with most of the toys he plays with, Tennis balls are his favourite, and he does have a tendency of not wanting to share them. If Timothy does find a tennis ball, then treats are usually the best way to take the ball from him. If he does not want to relinquish the ball, he will usually pull it to little pieces for you to pick up.

We have mixed Timothy with various residents here at SDR and on the whole Timothy is well mannered. Due to his love of tennis balls and that he has never lived with another dog, we feel Timothy would be best suited to being the only dog in the home. Timothy could certainly have some canine friends to walk with and visit him (if there are no tennis balls in the vicinity for him to have).  He has also met our resident cat Clove, again he was well mannered and could possibly live with a cat that is used to having canine company.

Timothy has been a little off his food since being here at SDR (this is to be expected). He will take quite a long time to eat it, picking at it for quite some time. This will no doubt change when he is settled in his new home. He is gentle when taking treats from you.

Having not had much interaction with children in his previous home we feel that Timothy could live with children 12 years and over if they are confident around dogs.

Despite his age, he loves his walks and in the whole walks well with very little pulling. Timothy's only nemesis when out walking are noisy vehicles, he will react by lunging towards them. Once they have passed, he will carry on enjoying the fauna & flora around him.

Timothy is looking for a family that will have someone around most of the day as he loves the company and can get a little upset when left alone. His new home will need a garden for him to explore and play in. Timothy will need a couple of walks a day for 30 mins to one hour and playtime in the garden.

The adoption fee for Timothy is £140
