We are so happy that after a successful home trial, our beautiful Autumn has now been formally adopted.

Autumn came to us in October 2022 - a local farmer managed to trap her after she was sighted straying for several weeks. It took 3 staff to get this terrified young girl from the truck into our isolation kennels. We knew that going to the pound was not an option for her, fortunately the wardens agreed that she could do her "stray time" with us. Autumn was a very shut down dog; she would bark whenever anyone went near her kennel and you could clearly see the fear in her eyes & body language. The staff worked hard to show her that people can be kind and she began to trust those around her.  We knew that finding a home for her would be a long process - we had no idea how long she had been out straying for or what had happened in her past, we just knew that her future needed to be a good one.

Two of our regular volunteers expressed an interest in her and so began, a very long process of working with them & Autumn. We cannot thank them enough for the countless visits they made - we let Autumn dictate the pace, so it started with just being in the same field as her and then over time getting closer & closer until they were able to harness her up and take her out without the staff.  The dedication they showed was outstanding and we knew that Autumn had found a home where she would be loved and never have to face fear again.

Rescue work is not always easy but times like this remind us all why we do it.  Thank you again to Autumn's new family - she is one very lucky girl.
